THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) KING'S SAILOR (D Ashby) was fractious in the stalls, kicked the back gates, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay.
b) MAGDALA (S Khumalo), OH MY GUCCI GIRL (C Habib) and PLAY ACT (E Webber) were stubborn loading.
c) CHEF D'OEUVRE (D Shwarz) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length.
d) BUMPS LAST GRIND (C Maujean), ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (L Mxothwa) and EAT PREY LOVE (R Fourie) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In the concluding stages MAGDALA (S Khumalo), which raced green, shifted out away from BUMPS LAST GRIND (C Maujean), which hung out under pressure and shifted out.
b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING'S SAILOR (D Ashby), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 23/12/2023 to 29/12/2023 inclusive). KING'S SAILOR may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MAGDALA (S Khumalo), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 23/12/2023 to 29/12/2023 inclusive). MAGDALA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) PLAY ACT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (LM)
