THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHRONICLESOFNANIA (R Danielson) was stubborn loading. b) IDITA (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls, rushed the front gates and thereafter was slow into stride. c) PINNACLE (*KJ Lihaba) jumped inwards. d) ROSE OF BAYEUX (D Schwarz) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) IDITA (S Khumalo) was late leaving the parade ring as this filly had to be fitted with ear muffs, causing a delay. b) At the 1100m IDITA (S Khumalo) got its head up for a number of strides while being steadied away from the heels of RAINBOW THIEF (D Ashby). c) Jockey D Ashby reported that RAINBOW THIEF did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented IDITA incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Assistant Trainer AC Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer GD Smith was fined R1 000.00. e) PINNACLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Nothing obvious detected THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
