THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING OF SEVILLE (M Mjoka) jumped inwards. b) CENTRAL CITY (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Prior to the running of this race, certain Riders raised concerns regarding the proximity of an electrical storm in the vicinity of the racecourse. After consultation with the Race Day Duty Manager, the Riders were satisfied that the storm did not pose any danger and proceeded to the start. This caused a delay to the start of this race. b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that KNIGHTS TABLE did not stride out freely in running and he eased this gelding out of the race from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with SPRING HIGH. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that CENTRAL CITY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) JASPERO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
