THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUND MACHINE (C Habib) was restless in the stalls. b) WHISTLEDOWN (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing one length. c) GOLDEN ARGO (J Gates) and ROYAL HORIZON (J R Syster) were slow losing one length. d) EMPRESSOFNORMANDY (K A Brewer) and STORM SECRET (*S Sosibo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ROYAL HORIZON (J R Syster) and LADY GREENSLEEVES (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that PRINCESS LOLA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey J R Syster reported that he felt something amiss with ROYAL HORIZON in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ROYAL HORIZON (J R Syster), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer H van der Westhuizen was advised. e) INEVITABLE (*T Mayhew), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PRINCESS LOLA blowing post race and scalp would left hind. b) ROYAL HORIZON bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60-day suspension.
