THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NETTLETON (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. b) CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls. c) GOLDEN ASPEN (*T Mayhew) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer C Spies was advised to reschool this mare prior to her next engagement (GT). d) QUEEN OF GAUL (D De Gouveia) stood losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer P D Lhamini, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) QUEEN OF GAUL (D De Gouveia) hung in from the 300m. b) WORLD HERITAGE (*D B Geerthsen) commenced to give ground to the field from the 250m. c) Jockey P Mxoli reported that RUN FOR ISLA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to QUEEN OF GAUL, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 29 December 2023 to 4 January 2024. QUEEN OF GAUL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer P D Lhamini, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised. e) NETTLETON (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
