THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SECRET SUMMER (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, SECRET SUMMER (X Ndlovu) was bumped on both sides and then clipped the heels of ROYAL VENUS (R Khathi), stumbled and lost momentum when tightened for galloping room between ROYAL VENUS (R Khathi), which shifted inwards leaving the stalls and FUTURE CONTRACT (E Webber), which was carried out by MISS TUCKER (L Mxothwa), which jumped outwards abruptly. In this incident, ROYAL VENUS (R Khathi) was turned inwards and both MISS TUCKER (L Mxothwa) and FUTURE CONTRACT (E Webber) were unbalanced. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with LADY D'ARBANVILLE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey E Webber reported that FUTURE CONTRACT choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) MISS TUCKER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee E Griebenow, acting on behalf of Trainer JVA Strydom, was advised.
