THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL ALLY (R Fourie) was stubborn loading. b) CASTLETOWN (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. c) CHERRY ANO (L Mxothwa) jumped inwards. d) GALLIC TRIBE (R Khathi), HEATHCLIFF (K Minnie) and QUASIMODO (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BOLD RESOLVE (Y Ramzan) got its head up for a number of strides while being restrained to get cover in the early stages. Thereafter, BOLD RESOLVE (Y Ramzan) failed to respond to its rider's urgings and gave ground to the field in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Approaching the 150m Jockey D Schwarz (ZATARA MAGIC) dropped his crop. c) Jockey K Minnie reported that HEATHCLIFF was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) ZATARA MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
