THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LADY SLIPPER (S Moodley) was hanging out around the turn. b) CAPTAIN MARVEL (*R A Venniker) took an awkward stride at approximately the 400m and thereafter hung in from the 300m to the 200m. c) Leaving the 200m, DAWN SURPRISE (C F Dicken), when racing green, shifted in sharply away from the crop. d) LONG STREET (M Thackeray) raced green. e) In view of the performance of CASSEY O (T Godden) (19.75 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey R Fourie reported that TOTHESTARSANDBACK made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running.
