THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOWN TO BUSINESS (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MEXICAN PETE (S Moodley) was hanging in from the 250m. b) Jockeys M Yeni (BELLA SICCOME), C Habib (ADDABAR) and QUEUE WING (C Maujean) reported that their respective mounts did not act in the prevailing soft track conditions. c) Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of CAPE EAGLE misused his crop by striding this gelding more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. d) FORMAGEAR (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer V Beets acting on behalf of Trainer P B Muscutt advised (DZ).
