THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OH MY WORD ITS ROY (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MAGWINYA (C F Dicken) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 1200m RAVENS SWORD (C Habib) was steadied momentarily when racing in close proximity to the heels of ONE IRISH ROVER (D Daniels), which rolled in. c) ONE IRISH ROVER (D Daniels) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performances of RAVENS SWORD (C Habib) (8.65 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) and OH MY WORD ITS ROY (*S Hlengwa) (12.95 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Trainer D S Bosch signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.3 in that he failed to vaccinate BRAVE VOYAGER against African Horse Sickness in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. Trainer D S Bosch was advised that BRAVE VOYAGER may not be nominated for any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority until fully vaccinated against African Horse Sickness. f) WINTER WAVES (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
