OKAPI LADIES INTERNATIONAL MAIDEN PLATE (For all Maidens)

THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROLL OF THE DICE (+K Oakes) jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. b) NOON DAY GUN (+L Kruger) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ROLL OF THE DICE dislodged Ms K Oakes while parading, cantered to the start, was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. Ms K Oakes was transported to the start and reunited with her mount. b) NOON DAY GUN dislodged Ms L Kruger on two occasions leaving the parade ring. c) CONNERY (+W Fourie) was hanging out throughout and proved a difficult ride. d) Ms K Oakes (ROLL OF THE DICE) was dislodged in the pull-up area. This precluded Ms K Oakes from being able to weigh in. The Stewards, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, were satisfied that ROLL OF THE DICE had carried the correct weight. e) Ms K Meaker, the rider of RIVERSTONE, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the closing stages of this race from various angles and was advised that, notwithstanding the nature and spirit of this race and her finishing position, she is required to ride with sufficient vigour and determination so as to avoid any room for query from the Stewards. f) GRAVITY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
