THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SANKOFA (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching 700m SANKOFA (C Maujean) brushed the inside running rail and took an awkward stride when awkwardly placed on the inside of GOTCHA BUZZ (D Ashby), which was hanging in. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine SANKOFA. b) Jockey S Khumalo briefly (BELLA ATTRICE) dropped his right-side rein approaching the 200m. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that BELLA ATTRICE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SI GIOCA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
