THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Apprentice B Plaatjies (BRIGHT STAR) accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. b) Apprentice N Nastili reported that he felt something amiss in the running with QUENTASIA. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of BLUSH OF DAWN (R Fourie) (9.45 lengths, 5/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer G B Puller will be asked to report back on the condition of BLUSH OF DAWN upon return to stables. d) STAR CHOICE (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson advised (DZ). When questioned regarding the improved performance of STAR CHOICE, the winner, compared to this mare's previous performance on the 20 December 2023, Trainer F Robinson could offer no suitable explanation for the improvement shown.
