THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MEETATTHEWINDSOR (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length. b) UBISIKA (S Khumalo), PISCES (J Gates) and SAN QUINTIN (R Khathi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin, MEETATTHEWINDSOR (K Minnie) refused to settle and, as a consequence, raced wide on the bend and into the straight. Thereafter, Jockey K Minnie reported that MEETATTHEWINDSOR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) MAKHACHEV (M Yeni) pulled hard in the early and middle stages and thereafter was hanging in from the 400m. c) PISCES (J Gates) was hanging in from the 300m. d) UBISIKA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM) e) ADIOS AMIGOS, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
