THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STATE OF MIND (K Steyn) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) ROSA ROSSA (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. c) GET IT DONE (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Due to time constraints, the Stewards instructed the Riders to proceed directly to the start and not parade in front of the grandstand. b) After being saddled, it was established that the saddles on TRIP TO BARBERTON (M Yeni) and MAIDEN'S COVE (S Khumalo) had been fitted to the incorrect horses. Both horses had to be re-saddled, causing a delay. c) The tongue tie on BATIK (JP van der Merwe) was re-fitted at the start, causing a further delay. d) GET IT DONE (L Mxothwa) had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 300m and 200m. e) TRIP TO BARBERTON (M Yeni) was steadied at the finish when awkwardly placed between MEENEERA (Y Ramzan) and KAVIAN'S CARA (M Mjoka). f) FOR ALL WE KNOW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) BEAU KALA raced with blinkers (declared 15h36 on 20240111) b) G Wright rode BEAU KALA (declared 15h20 on 20240112) (Jockey R Danielson was stood down by the course medical officer. Rule 25.12 not applied. Jockey R Danielson must be examined by a medical doctor and passed fit to ride prior to his next engagement).
