THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAKAS KRAKAS (*M K Katjedi) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) LIVEBYTHESWORD (S Khumalo) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, POLICY OF TRUTH (J Gates) and IRISH LOVE (C Habib) were bumped out by LIVEBYTHESWORD (S Khumalo), which jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. b) Approaching the 1400m, IRISH LOVE (C Habib) was steadied to avoid the heels of POLICY OF TRUTH (J Gates), which shifted in whilst proving difficult to settle. Thereafter, leaving the 1200m, POLICY OF TRUTH (J Gates), which continued to pull hard, was directed outwards to avoid the heels of DAMASCODORO (Wes Marwing). As a consequence, POLICY OF TRUTH (J Gates) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) HAKAS KRAKAS (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
