THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAST LOVE (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) COMMAND PILOT (D De Gouveia) and QUANTUM (K A Brewer) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib reported that TIZONA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that COMMAND PILOT took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer A G Laird was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of COMMAND PILOT on return to stables. c) ZUZAN (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
