THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING'S SAILOR (D Ashby)) was stubborn loading. b) MAGDALA (*KJ Lihaba) was reluctant to load. c) DECO VAR (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing two lengths. d) SILVONIAN (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length. e) EAT PREY LOVE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GORGEOUS KLEIN (L Mxothwa) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised that should this colt behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) Approaching the 400m GORGEOUS KLEIN (L Mxothwa) was directed to the outside of BUMPS LAST GRIND (M Yeni) and into clear running. c) At the 150m EAT PREY LOVE (R Fourie) showed a tendency to hang in, rolled in and then took an awkward stride when being directed out away from GORGEOUS KLEIN (L Mxothwa). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING'S SAILOR (D Ashby), Trainer JP Nel will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) RAVILIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
