THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE OLYMPIC (G Wright) was slow into stride. b) SOLOMONS SEAL (S Veale) and MONUMENTAL (A Arries) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being dislodged at the start in Race 9, Jockey RA Venniker was examined by the course Medical Officer and passed fit to ride. b) Jockey R Venniker reported that ERMELO, which raced without cover in the early stages and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle, changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) ITSRAININGWILLIAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
