THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROY'S ON FIRE (*T Mayhew) was stubborn to load. Lost 3 lengths. Trainer P M Gadsby will be advised to re-school this gelding (SL). b) TOMYRIS (J Gates) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 1100m PINK DIAMOND (S Moodley) ran onto and clipped the heels of ROY'S OYSTER (D Daniels). b) At approximately the 1000m, VALLI GAL (R A Venniker) which commenced to over-race, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of LONG STREET (M Thackeray). c) At approximately the 400m CANFORD QUEEN (M Yeni) was brushed out by TOMYRIS (J Gates) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, TOMYRIS (J Gates) shifted out off the heels of KYLIE'S ANGEL (C Zackey) and QUESTO E QUELLO (T Godden) to obtain a clear run. d) ROY'S ON FIRE (*T Mayhew) raced detached from the field throughout. e) KYLIE'S ANGEL (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 200m. f) QUESTO E QUELLO (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
