THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DIANI (C Habib) was stubborn to load. b) GLADATORIAN (S Veale) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) NELSON BAY (M Yeni) over-raced in the early stages. b) In the concluding stages NELSON BAY (M Yeni) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of GLADATORIAN (S Veale) which was carried out by WINTER GAMES (T Godden) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey T Godden signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of WINTER GAMES, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses GLADATORIAN (S Veale) and NELSON BAY (M Yeni) in the concluding stages. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days was imposed. (Dates to be advised). c) GLADATORIAN (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
