THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUGAR BLAST (S Veale) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SUGAR BLAST (S Veale) over-raced in the early stages. b) Approaching the 1000m, TRUE TROJAN (C Maujean) ran onto and clipped the heels of GIVERS GRACE (C Dicken). c) In view of the performances of SUGAR BLAST (S Veale) (9.05 lengths, 15/2 in the betting) and GIVERS GRACE (C Dicken) (18.05 lengths, 9/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E, Guideline M), in that as the rider of QUANTIFIER, he misused his crop by striking this colt more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R3000 was imposed. e) ROCK FALL (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
