THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IZAPHA (C Habib) was stubborn to load. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised to re-school this gelding (BN). b) THE SHEPHERD (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. c) FIREFLARE (C Zackey), TEMPERATE ZONE (R A Venniker), AURORA STORM (*T Mayhew), and CYBER TIME (N Patel) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TEMPERATE ZONE (R A Venniker) was hanging out from the 200m. b) At approximately the 200m TEICHMAN (C F Dicken) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of THE SHEPHERD (R Fourie) which shifted in sharply away from the crop and was immediately straightened. c) In the concluding stages THE SHEPHERD (R Fourie) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of EL DANTE (D Daniels) which switched in to avoid running onto the heels of CYBER TIME (N Patel). d) An inquiry will be opened to establish why GOLDEN PEACE (A Mgudlwa) had to ease at the 150m. e) Jockey C Habib reported that IZAPHA changed legs in the running, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) CYBER TIME (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) GOLDEN PEACE raced without cheek pieces (Advised 29.01.24/07h13). b) AURORA STORM raced equipped with blinkers (Advised 25.01.24/08h12). c) Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,7kgs, 0,5kgs over the carded weight.
