THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BALLROOM BLISS (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 200m BOSNAY (*K J Lihaba) had to steady when awkwardly placed between OH SO SQUISHY (N Patel) which rolled out and QUESTO E QUELLO (R Fourie) which rolled in. As a consequence, BOSNAY (*K J Lihaba) clipped the heels of QUESTO E QUELLO (R Fourie). b) In the concluding stages OH SO SQUISHY (N Patel) was carried in marginally by LADY CANTON (M Yeni) which shifted in. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. After viewing the patrol films from the various angles, he could not be satisfied that the result of this race was affected and therefore took no further action. c) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why QUESTO E QUELLO (R Fourie) had to ease in the concluding stages. d) The Stewards have adjourned to review the ride of Jockey N Patel on OH SO SQUISHY. e) In view of the performances of YOU DESERVE IT (C F Dicken) (12.40 lengths, 10/1 in the betting) and BALLROOM BLISS (G Lerena) (10.40 lengths, 7/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) LADY CANTON (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
