THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL POWER (S Moodley) and KIMBALL O'HARA (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ULTRA QUICK (*S Hlengwa) and KIMBALL O'HARA (T Godden) were buffeted between MASTER JOSH (R A Venniker) which jumped outwards and HARLEY STREET (R Fourie), which jumped inwards. As a consequence of this KIMBALL O'HARA (T Godden) lost ground to the field. b) At the 1000m ULTRA QUICK (*S Hlengwa) which commenced to over-race, switched out to avoid running onto the heels of HARLEY STREET (R Fourie). c) In the concluding stages, Jockey R Fourie felt something amiss with HARLEY STREET and eased this gelding out of the race. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning HARLEY STREET (R Fourie), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer A J Rivalland was advised. Suspension dates (05.02.2024 - 04.04.2024 bdi). e) SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
