THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GRADUATION TIME (L Mxothwa) jumped outwards.
b) POMPEI WARNING (C Zackey) stumbled leaving the stalls.
c) VALYRIAN SWORD (S Naidoo) and CALLMEMRGREENLIGHT (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Jockey S Naidoo (VALYRIAN SWORD) dropped his crop at the 300m.
b) FOREST SPY (Y Ramzan) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages.
c) In view of the performance of GRADUATION TIME (L Mxothwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure that POMPEI WARNING and FOREST SPY were presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the sixth (7th) race. Trainer GD Smith signed Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000,00.
e) Jockey Y Ramzan was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of FOREST SPY he misused his crop by striking FOREST SPY more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey Y Ramzan signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00.
f) POMPEI WARNING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
