THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELUSIVE JEWEL (E Webber) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. b) YOU WIN AGAIN (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. c) SI GIOCA (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls, kicked the back gates and jumped slow, losing two lengths. d) KILEIGH'S FATE (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length. e) SUCCESSFUL LADY (Y Ramzan) and MOONSTRIKE (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SUCCESSFUL LADY slipped, fell and dislodged Jockey Y Ramzan without incident leaving the parade ring. This filly was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon on her arrival at the start and passed suitable to race. b) Apprentice KJ Lihaba (MISTY CLIFFS) dropped his crop at the 250m. c) Jockey S Naidoo reported that REGINA BELLISSIMA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performance of SI GIOCA (X Ndlovu), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ELUSIVE JEWEL (E Webber), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 60 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 10/02/2024 to 09/04/2024, both dates inclusive). ELUSIVE JEWEL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SI GIOCA (X Ndlovu), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. g) Trainer SB Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that she presented ELUSIVE JEWEL incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer SB Kotzen was given a warning. h) LADY RENEE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
