THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KWITE A KING (JP van der Merwe) jumped outwards. b) PATRICK'S ONE (C Bantam) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FRENCH TRIP (A Mgudlwa) was hanging out in the straight. b) Jockey B Fayd'Herbe reported that LOCKHEEDLIGHTNING did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of MR BELVEDERE (R Fourie) (Betting 9/4; Distance 3.50 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) PATRICK'S ONE (C Bantam) returned with a unilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
