THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) JET SET LADY (*S Sosibo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) PEACE OF MIND (D De Gouveia) shifted out away from the crop from the 150m. Thereafter, Jockey D De Gouveia reported this filly tired badly in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
Jockey D De Gouveia was questioned regarding his riding of PEACE OF MIND in the concluding stages where the Stewards pointed out to him that his riding had come under notice as it appeared that there had been a slight pause in his vigour in the concluding stages. He explained to the Board that this colt had shifted out away from the crop from the 150m and thereafter had tired badly in the concluding stages. Jockey D De Gouveia was advised that notwithstanding that the colt had dead-heated for second, he is required to ride out with sufficient determination and vigour so that his riding does not come under query from the Stewards.
b) YOU BRING ME JOY (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer W Marwing, acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing, was advised (MS).
