THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue-tie on HORSEFLY (R Fourie) was refitted at the start. b) CAPTAIN COOL (*T Mayhew) was reluctant to load and slow into stride. c) DINA AROBI (X Ndlovu) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey X Ndlovu was unbalanced for a number of strides when DINA AROBI jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) SEBASTIAN'S ANGEL (C Maujean) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) CONNECTION (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m. d) Apprentice T Mayhew reported that CAPTAIN COOL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Trainer AC Greeff was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure that DINA AROBI was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first (1st) race. Trainer AC Greeff signed Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000,00. f) HORSEFLY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
