THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YOUCRACKMEUP (E Webber) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) JADE'S CABERNEIGH (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls. c) MARY LAMB (K Minnie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CONCERTO (X Ndlovu) shifted out continually away from the crop between the 200m and the finish. Jockey X Ndlovu appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. Race 7 contd. b) Jockey K Minnie reported that MARY LAMB did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey E Webber reported that YOUCRACKMEUP was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure that BABY LOVE was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first (7th) race. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, signed Admission of Guilt and Trainer GD Smith was fined R1 000,00. e) SUMMER ODYSSEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
