THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VARVARA (R Munger) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow, losing two lengths. Trainer S G Tarry was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) WINNING BEAUTY (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey S Khumalo reported that WINNING BEAUTY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Trainer A P Peter was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate GOLDEN CHANDELIER against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer A P Peter signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. c) GOLDEN CHANDELIER (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
