THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PLETTENBERG (R A Venniker) was restless in the stalls and got its left hind leg caught on the partition of the starting stalls. Removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. b) COSMIC CAPTAIN (N Patel) was restless in the stalls. c) CLEVER ORRIE (C Zackey) and COSMIC CAPTAIN (N Patel) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after start UNCLE LUCKY (D Schwarz) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of GREENSIDE (C F Dicken), which shifted in. Jockey C F Dicken signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GREENSIDE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to UNCLE LUCKY (D Schwarz) shortly after the start. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days was imposed (Dates to be advised). b) GLOBAL MOVEMENT (D Daniels) over raced in the early stages and thereafter, compounded in the straight. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss in the concluding stages with CLEVER ORRIE. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PLETTENBERG (R A Venniker), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 28.02.2024 to the 05.03.2024 bdi. PLETTENBERG may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M L Roberts was advised (SN). e) IRISH LUCK (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PLETTENBERG raced fitted with a tongue tie (advised 27.02.2024/07h51). b) GLOBAL MOVEMENT raced equipped with blinkers (advised 26.02.2024/15h16). c) GREENSIDE raced equipped with cheek pieces (advised 27.02.2024/06h19). d) Jockey S Moodley was the rider of HAT HOT HAT (advised 27.04.2024/12h06).
