THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start PLINIAN (*K J Lihaba), LOVE IN WINTER (A Mgudlwa), WAR EMPRESS (C Maujean) and RHYTHM (C Habib) were carried out by STANLEY PARK (M Yeni) which jumped out and thereafter shifted out. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board with regard to this incident. Whilst the Board took into consideration that STANLEY PARK jumped outwards, Jockey M Yeni was advised to take timeous corrective measures to ensure that his mounts do not shift ground in races in future. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN took an awkward stride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of PILNIAN (*K J Lihaba) (11.05 lengths and 8/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Trainer G B Puller signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horses STANLEY PARK and PLINIAN. Accordingly a penalty of a warning was imposed. e) DONQUERARI (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) STANLEY PARK and PLINIAN raced in club colours. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN: Nothing obvious detected. b) PLINIAN: Not striding out right front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
