ORIENTAL WORLD was unruly in the stalls. WILLIAM CAVENDISH was stubborn loading, slow away and lost 1 length. MONTANA SKY was slow into stride. MONTANA SKY over-raced in the early stages and thereafter shifted both ways away from the crop from the 250m. SHADES OF BLU over-raced in the early and middle stages. At approximately the 400m, GIVEMETHETHUMBSUP was carried in marginally by THOMAS TUCKER, which was hanging in from the 500m. ORIENTAL WORLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Laing appeared before the Board and when afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance of this colt, she explained to the Board that she ran this colt over a short distance in the previous outing and he was quite immature as this was his second race and today she ran it over a longer distance, which in her opinion accounted for the improved run. SHADES OF BLU was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The Owner of LOST MONARCH raced in the colours of Mr R R Harris: White, red epaulettes, red sleeves, white cap. Scratched: WHITE WARRIOR - not eating up.
