THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAIN DEFENDER (C Habib) threw its head down as the start was effected. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MK'S PRIDE (C Maujean) raced wide, without cover around the turn and into the straight. b) MAIN DEFENDER (C Habib) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. c) Approaching the 200m, COUSIN CASEY (G van Niekerk), which was directed inwards to continue its run, bumped SON OF RAJ (K Matsunyane), which was carried out marginally by SUGAR MOUNTAIN (R Danielson). d) In view of the performance of SUGAR MOUNTAIN (R Danielson), (distance 20,25 lengths, betting 20/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the performance of MELECH (M Yeni), (distance 21,50 lengths, betting 20/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of COSMIC HIGHWAY (C Zackey), (distance 25,00 lengths, betting 33/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey G Lerena reported that PUERTO MANZANO did not stride out freely in running.
