THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) was restless in the stalls. b) MAJESTIC WARRIOR (S Veale) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. c) FASHIONIGMA (M Mjoka) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m FASHIONIGMA (M Mjoka) was steadied briefly when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and MAJESTIC WARRIOR (S Veale), which was initially directed inwards away from the heels of MARSHALL FIELD (B Fayd'Herbe) and then commenced to hang in. Jockey S Veale appeared before the Board and was advised that in similar circumstances the Stewards would expect him to keep both hands on the reins and make more effort to keep his mounts on a straight course. b) LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) rolled out and was brushed on the hindquarters by FLY FUTURA (A Domeyer) at the finish. c) Jockey B Fayd'Herbe reported that MARSHALL FIELD did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey J Jacobs was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on VENGEANCE FOREVER, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000.00. e) LIGHTNING GLOW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (WM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) M Mjoka (FASHIONIGMA) weighed out at 52.9kgs, 2.5kgs over the carded weight in accordance with his NHA riding restriction (declared 11h17 on 20240227) b) A Mgudlwa rode VENGEANCE FOREVER (declared 12h33 on 20240303) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MARSHALL FIELD - examined post-race.
