En route to the start, SKYDANCER dislodged its Rider, resulting in this horse being led to the start. This caused a delay to the start of this Race which was compounded by a tongue tie being re-fitted on SKYDANCER. BAYOU BOSS was nervous in the stalls. CHESTNUT WILD and WILDCAT were slow into stride. SHERWOOD FOREST and KEANAN'S ROCK were slow away and lost 1 length respectively. SKYDANCER was lead to the start. At approximately the 1000m, in a significantly reduced pace, SKYDANCER was brushed out by BAYOU BOSS which rolled out to avoid running into the heels of runners. As a consequence, GOLD PACT, CHESTNUT WILD and KEANAN'S ROCK had to steady momentarily and this resulted in WOOD FOR THE TREES making contact with the inside running rail. Jockey Gould appeared before the Board and was advised not to ease his mount up when riding in the race, thereby causing bunching to the field. He was cautioned that should he ride in this manner in future, stringent measures will be meted against him. WILDCAT commenced to over-race entering the turn. WOOD FOR THE TREES was switched out to obtain a clear run at the 200m. In view of the performance of SUNDAY FALLS, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the Starter's report with regard to SKYDANCER, Mr Greeff was advised that should SKYDANCER behave in a similar manner in future, he may be suspended. SKYDANCER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SUNDAY FALLS abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: FORT CAROL - hoof abscess. PEN-CHAN - retired. NICKELBACK - off feed. MASTER DESIGN - retired.
