THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) QUANABI (R Fourie) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, at the 1000m QUANABI (R Fourie) which continued to over-race was switched off the heels of POURSOMESUGARONME (R A Venniker). QUANABI (R Fourie) then compounded in the straight. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) At the 250m LITTLEBLACKVELVET (*K J Lihaba) was carried out marginally by FORT J'ADORE (A Mgudlwa) which was hanging out. c) Leaving the 200m POURSOMESUGARONME (R A Venniker) was switched to the inside of LITTLEBLACKVELVET (*K J Lihaba) to continue its run. d) At approximately the 600m MISS LALAH had to be encouraged forward by Jockey C Maujean on two occasions leaving the 600m. e) DOLLAR A DIME (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
