THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WHAT NOW MY GAL (+O Moyake) reared, fell over in the stalls and was withdrawn by the course Veterinary Surgeon, causing a delay.
b) QUEEN OF THE PALACE (+Z Matwa) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
c) BIG SPENDER (+TG Mogalatladi) jumped slow, losing three lengths.
d) BEST INTENTIONS (+S Liyaba) jumped outwards.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) PONTE VECCHIO stumbled leaving the stalls and, as a consequence, Work Rider S Ngqabuko was unbalanced and PONTE VECCHIO lost ground to the field.
b) At the 150m ELUSIVE HUNTER (+K Hlakabe) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between MONTREAL (+Si Ngqabuko) and OVER THE MOON (+S Mkhwambi), which rolled out.
c) In the concluding stages, BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON (+A Gwadiso) shifted out sharply and bumped BEST INTENTIONS (+S Liyaba) at the finish.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WHAT NOW MY GAL (+O Moyake), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 09/03/2024 to 15/03/2024 inclusive). WHAT NOW MY GAL may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BIG SPENDER (+TG Mogalatladi), Trainer E Kaknis will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f) SHINE IN MEMPHIS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
