En route to the start, DUCHESS OF PRUSSIA refused to proceed to the start from approximately the 400m which resulted in Jockey Khathi leading this mare all the way to the start. This resulted in the delay to the start of this Race. HOPEFUL was slow away and lost 2 lengths. HONEY SUITE jumped outwards. SALUBRIOUS jumped awkwardly. RUBY DAWN fly jumped leaving the stalls. DUCHESS OF PRUSSIA refused to jump. The starting stall certificate of this mare is withdrawn. Apprentice Juglall reported that he felt something amiss with WINTER FIVE and did not persevere with his ride from the 350m. Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with LALENA in the running. The saddle on RUBY DAWN slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. In view of the Starter's report with regard to DUCHESS OF PRUSSIA, this mare's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she was suspended for a period of 30 days and until such time as she proves tractable to parade and proceed to the start and jump on terms. DUCHESS OF PRUSSIA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. QUAKESHAKE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: WINTER FIVE - post race distress syndrome. LALENA - nothing obvious detected.
