THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ACCOMMODATOR (K Steyn) was stubborn loading and fractious in the stalls, causing a delay. b) LORD SAYE (GB) (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly with its head up. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 100m GOLDEN GREY (O Noach) shifted out sharply away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) HOODIA (C Orffer) and MONT LOISIR (R Fourie) brushed in the concluding stages. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ACCOMMODATOR (K Steyn), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 10/03/2024 to 16/03/2024 inclusive). ACCOMMODATOR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) HOODIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
