THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARIACHI MADNESS (*S Sosibo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIX THE MAGIC (*N Nastili) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. b) MUNCHKIN (R Fourie) hung in from the 500m to the 300m and thereafter shifted both ways away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) FAST DUTY (C Habib) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. d) KITTYBOYS GIRL (*T Mayhew) hung in from the 200m and thereafter shifted in sharply in the concluding stages. e) Jockey S Khumalo did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey S Khumalo reported that PENDRAGON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with JOHN WICK in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey J Gates reported that SAMTHEWISEMAN changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) VAVA VEGAS (J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Borman advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PENDRAGON was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo (declared 14 March 2024 at 14H29). b) KITTYBOYS GIRL: Apprentice T Mayhew weighed out at 54,4kg, only claiming 1kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared.
