THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOUNT ANDERSON (*DB Geerthsen) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. b) PERFECTION (*KJ Lihaba) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) FIGHT SONG (D Schwarz) and BRENDEN JAMES (S Khumalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BUSH TRACKER (L Mxothwa) over raced in the middle stages. b) PERFECTION (*KJ Lihaba) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with FIGHT SONG. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) FIGHT SONG (D Schwarz) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis) e) CHERRY ANO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
