THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAFE CULTURE (R Fourie) broke through the front of the stalls, cantered a short distance, was returned to the start, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) WE'RE JAMMING (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TOUT A FAIT (J Solomons), which had raced prominently and in advance of the field until the 300m, was steadied at the 150m to avoid the heels of PORT LOUIS (L Mxothwa), which commenced to hang out and shifted out abruptly. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CAFE CULTURE (R Fourie), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 17/03/2024 to 23/03/2024 inclusive). CAFE CULTURE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) WECANGOALLNIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
