This start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to refit the right fore shoe on STARLIGHT at the start. GINGER BISCUIT lost one length. SPRING BURST fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing two lengths. Jockey Randolph reported that SPRING BURST coughed post-race. Jockey Khumalo reported that STARLIGHT did not stride out freely in the running. Trainer Loosen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented YAAS in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this Race. A penalty of a warning was imposed. YAAS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FLEEK raced with a tongue tie. Vet: SPRING BURST and STARLIGHT - nothing obvious detected. YAAS - post race distress. Scratched: WELAKAPELA - insufficient recovery time.
