THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) CAPTAIN OF GRIT (R Fourie) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer T Dawson, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised (GT).
b) PAISLEY PARK (C Habib) stood, losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (GT).
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Jockey C Habib reported that PAISLEY PARK did not stride out freely in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CAPTAIN OF GRIT, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 22 March 2024 to 28 March 2024. CAPTAIN OF GRIT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer T Dawson, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised.
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PAISLEY PARK, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 22 March 2024 to 28 March 2024. PAISLEY PARK may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer S G Tarry was advised.
d) JOKER MAN (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
