THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) AZIMUTH (*T Mayhew) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b) LOVE SONG (K Minnie), DANCE MO (S Naidoo) and ELUSIVE HUNTER (D Schwarz) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) HAT'S MIRACLE (D Ashby) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler, causing a delay. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
b) Shortly after the start, DANCE MO (S Naidoo) and ELUSIVE HUNTER (D Schwarz) bumped.
c) Leaving the 400m HAT'S MIRACLE (D Ashby) took an awkward stride and thereafter raced awkwardly from the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) Jockey D Schwarz reported that ELUSIVE HUNTER choked up in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 500m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) In view of the performance of ELUSIVE MATA (L Mxothwa), which was hanging in from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f) AZIMUTH (*T Mayhew) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis)
g) ESSENTIAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
h) QUIRK OF FATE, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
