THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BAUBLES AND BEADS (A Andrews) kicked the back gates, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded.
b) CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach) was stubborn loading, causing a delay.
c) INNER SENSE (J Solomons) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a further delay.
d) MIA'S HARPER (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) On completion of the re-assessment of Jockey A Domeyer after being dislodged from his mount in Race 4, the course Medical Doctor declared him fit to continue riding.
b) Jockey A Andrews reported that BAUBLES AND BEADS did not stride out freely in running and made an abnormal respiratory noise and was eased out of the race at the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding INNER SENSE (J Solomons), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 24/03/2024 to 30/03/2024 inclusive). INNER SENSE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 24/03/2024 to 30/03/2024 inclusive). CAPTAIN'S DESTINY may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BAUBLES AND BEADS (A Andrews), Trainer L Gila will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f) NORDIC QUEST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (TJ)
