THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SANDY'S HORIZON (J Jacobs) was fractious and kicked the back gates repeatedly, was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn.
b) GRAND OCCASION (R A Venniker) was stubborn to load.
c) PAPURY (C Habib) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Between the 1000m and the 800m PITZUCHIM (M Thackeray) was momentarily inconvenienced on two occasions on the outside of EXTRACTION (R Fourie) which was hanging out around the turn and rolled out marginally.
b) Approaching the 50m, QONDANEKUKHANYENI (*S Hlengwa) which raced green was momentarily inconvenienced between the inside running rail and PAPURY (C Habib) which raced green and rolled in.
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SANDY'S HORIZON (J Jacobs), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 25.03.2024 to the 31.03.2024 bdi). SANDY'S HORIZON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller was advised (SL).
d) ETHEREAL VIEW (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller advised (DZ).
